u3as (Universities of the Third Age) are self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for older people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications, but for fun.
Ripley and District u3a was formed at the beginning of 2009 and we now have 145 members and 22 established interest groups (please go to the GROUPS page on this website and follow the links for details of these). We hold a Coffee Morning at 11am on the third Tuesday of the month at the Willow Wood cafe for those thinking of joining or just wanting more information about u3a.
Annual membership is currently £20 per person. The membership form can be found in the "links" section.
New members are very welcome. If you are interested in joining, becoming a group co-ordinator, or just want to find out more, please get in touch.
We produce a monthly "What's On", emailed to members, detailing some of our activities
