The Art Appreciation Group meets monthly at a range of venues, from group members' homes to art galleries. The aim of the group is to be ‘out and about’ as much as possible, taking advantage of the wide range of opportunities for accessing the visual arts provided by our unique and rich location

The next visits are:
Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Wednesday 12th November 2025
The exhibition will mark 250 years since the birth of JMW
Turner, exploring both the artist ‘s own work and his enduring
impact on later generations. Turner: Always Contemporary
which includes National Museum Liverpool collection Turner oil
paintings, art work on paper and print, along side modern and
contemporary that delve into themes of travel , landscapes and
artistic experimental. A number of important and influential
loaned works will also feature.
Graves Art Gallery—Thursday 11th December 2025
Exhibition: Place & Identity See how ideas around place and
Identity have been explored by artists including Fay Godwin,
David Hockney, Mandy Pay Frank Auerbach, Eric Ravealious and
Katerina Seda.
The places we inhabit are not just physical locations, they are
woven with time and memory, shaping our experiences,
interest and sense of belonging.
